So, I broke my constant downward spiral of weight loss. This past weekend I went to Ely Minnesota with my wife and kids. We rent a cabin on Farm lake and do a lot of dock fishing and hiking. The trip was a blast but as an after thought I realize I snacked to much and didn't drink enough water. It's hard when you are in a place where you can't drink the water and you are limited in your exercise options. I talked to a friend about the same thing happening to her while she was in Mexico. While we are on vacation we need to keep making healthy choices and incorporating exercise when we can. This can be particularly hard when you are in a foreign place and can't eat the fruit or vegetables. I think I will be bringing some Shakeology and greek yogurt with me on my trip to the black hills.
I decided to reboot today. I had a Shakeology shake and some greek yogurt for breakfast, lots of water and my vitamins. For lunch I am having Pb on Ezekiel bread with a depth charge and a power green salad with soup for dinner tonight. I really want to get down to 250 for the Red Ribbon Ride, I can still do it. I think I am going to start to modify my smoothies to make sure I am not taking in too many calories between them and the other foods I eat. Less fruit and more vegetables and will power.
Last night was the last gladiator class for the summer. I am heading into the home stretch for the Red Ribbon Ride, I did lose my Sidi bike shoes which I will have to replace soon. I have been training in my keen bike sandals which are good but I get better power transfer from the Sidi shoes. I hope to do 1000 miles on my bike between now and the ride. If I can make the donation goal I am going to ride the Attaboy men's cancer ride this weekend in honor of grandpa Gerald.ATTABOY RIDE SITE My fundraising for the AIDS ride is going well but I don't have that big of a donor base and many of them don't want to give to 2 causes in the same year.
There was an interesting article in the star tribune about how much solicitation we all get to donate to causes. Section on Donations Overall I feel we need to pick a small handful that are close to our heart. I am a very giving person and I want to give to most of the places that ask for money. It makes me think of a scene from the Life of Pi where the dad says "believing in everything at once is the same as believing in nothing at all, you have to choose what you believe in." Goes for everything in life including how we want to lose weight and live our lives. I choose to raise money for the schools that I grew up in, AIDS, and cancer. What do you believe in and want to fight for?
I hope your exercise and diet is getting you where you want to be. Keep up the good work!
